BIRDIE FRANCES WOLFE
(July 22, 1924 - January 16, 2009)



BIRDIE FRANCES WOLFE, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born July 22, 1924 in Cabell County, WV, the daughter of the late John Henry and Icie Ellen Knight Carico. She was the widow of James Andrew Wolfe. In addition to her parents and husband, Birdie was preceded in death by her siblings, John Carico, Naomi Masarki, Eloise Wilson, Beulah Dillon, Jimmie Carico and Bobby Carico. She is survived by her brother Frank Carico of Kansas City, Missouri, and a special friend Janet Artrip of Ona, WV, and multiple nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Birdie was a member of the Pea Ridge United Methodist Church, the Guyandotte Chapter of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and she was a lifetime member of the Women's Auxi8liary at St. Mary's Medical Center and a member of the Federation of Democratic Women. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at HENSON MORTUARY BARBOURSVILLE, with the visitation being held Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. The Rev. Sue Jarrett will be officiating. She was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant, where she was employed as a glass inspector. Donations may be made to the Jeffrey George Hospitality House, Huntington. HENSON MORTUARY BARBOURSVILLE, is handling arrangements for the family.
