FLORENCE ELLA PERDIEU
Florence Ella Perdieu, 100, of Proctorville, Ohio, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at her residence. Florence was the daughter of the late George D. & Sarah Alice Callaghan Thomas .She was preceded by her husband Ellis Perdieu, daughter Dorothy Brennen, and one grandson David Jeffers. She was also preceded by (5) sisters Laurie, Pearl, Dolly, Hazel, Esther, (3) brothers Earnest, Hubert, & Fred.She and her husband Ellis were married in Princeton, W.Va., and subsequently lived in various W.Va. coalfields before moving in the late 1950's to Detroit briefly, then to Ohio in the areas of Cleveland and Lorain. At retirement in the mid-1970's the couple moved to Proctorville. Florence made her profession to honor Jesus with her life and walked honestly and truthfully in a quiet Christian non-denominational faith, where she has many, many loving friends who along with her family celebrate her life and victory for eternity. Survivors include a daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Bumgardner-Jeffers- Proctorville. (6) grandchildren James D. "Rik" & Karen Bumgardner- Huntington, Ronald D. Bumgardner-Texas, Kenneth R. & Robin Bumgardner- Proctorville, Lynn & Mike Merrick, Lea Roe, Connie & Jeff Fraley.(12) great-grandchildren, (14) great-great-grandchildren. A half brother- David D. Thomas, & half sister Oneida Halsey, a multitude of nieces and nephews who were very close to her. At the Last Family Reunion in 2005 honoring her 95th birthday, there were close to 300 in attendance. Funeral service s will be held Wednesday April 14, 2010, at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, at 1:00 P.M. with Scott Hanks, & Joel Riggs officiating, Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010, for 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Henson Mortuary.
