ALLAN HUBERT VAUGHAN
ALLAN HUBERT VAUGHAN, 84, of Barboursville, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Wyngate Senior Living Center, Barboursville. Allan was loved deeply and will be missed. He was born May 8, 1925, in Spencer, WV, the son of the late William Alonzo and Ivada Clark Vaughan. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at HENSON MORTUARY BARBOURSVILLE. Burial will follow at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Barboursville, with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. He is survived by (2) daughters Donna and Jeff Kaplan- Huntington, Melinda Schnackenberg- Florida.(4) grandchildren Kramer and Keaton Kaplan, Miranda & Michael Mathews, (1) great-grandson Shannon Martin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010. He was retired from INCO where he was employed as a Mechanical Engineer. He received his B.S. degree from West Virginia University and was a member of the WVU Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Society of Professional Engineers. He was a Past Master of the Wayne Masonic Lodge and American Legion in Charleston. Mr. Vaughn was an avid golfer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WW II. in the Pacific. Donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, and the family wishes to thank the staff at Wyngate for their care for the last two years.
