HOMER LEE JIMISON
Homer L. Jimison, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday morning, January 28, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center of cancer. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville with ministers Alan Cole and Tom Racer officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Phyllis M. Jimison originally of Charleston, WV. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis J. Claypoole of West Columbia, SC, ten nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends including Joyce Harmon a long time employee and friend. He was preceded in death by his sister, Iris J. Farrell of Dickson, TN. Homer was born in 1925 to the late Audrey and Homer Jimison, Sr. of St. Albans, WV. Mr. Jimison worked for over forty years for Prudential Insurance and was a loyal member and volunteer with the Huntington Downtown Lions Club serving as the president in 1972. He was a U.S. WWII Veteran, serving in Europe in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a devoted member of the 26th Street Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV.
