KENNETH A. HERRELL
(June 25, 1934 - March 18, 2012)

Kenneth Albert Herrell, 77 of Proctorville, OH, formerly of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 18, 2012 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 22,, 2012 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV with Pastor Fred Ramey and Pastor Chuck Herrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington, WV.  He was born  June 25, 1934 in Pedro, OH the son of the late Frank and Opal (Robinson) Herrell.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Charlene Herrell, one brother, George Herrell, two sisters, Ann Coburn and Ruth Spears and one daughter, Cheryl Abrams. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, drove a milk truck, was a retired Crane Operator at AK Steel and a member of the First Altizer Freewill Baptist Church. He attended Abundant Life Baptist Church with his son and daughter-in-law, David and Darlena Herrell with whom he made his home. He is survived by two brothers, Glen Herrell (Misty) of South Point, OH, Chuck Herrell (Linda) of Chilhowie, VA, sisters, Sandra Foster of Chesapeake, OH, Bonnie Leszkowics (Rick) of Findlay, OH, Becky Cremeens (Rick) of Kitts Hill, OH; son, David Herrell (Darlena) of Proctorville, OH, Daughters, Evelyn Philpot (Jerry) of Naples, FL and Kim and (Steve Carpenter) Herrell of Ironton, OH;  stepson, Doug Freeman (Jill) and one step-daughter, Cheri Absten (Tim); thirteen grandchildren, David Herrell, FL, Jared (Savanah) Herrell, OH, Justin Herrell (Rebekah), WV, Catelyn Henson (Travis), OH, Timothy Herrell (Meagan) serving in Japan, Nathan Herrell, FL, Chris Shuff and Renee Philpot, FL, Megan and Josh Absten, WV, Erin, Madison, Morgan Freeman, WV; three great-grandchidlren, Ava Herrell, Kaleb Herrell and Sophie Grayce Henson that brightened his day and a host of nieces and nephews and a special dog, Abby.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6-9 PM at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, WV.
