MELBA KATHLEEN MESSNER
(January 1, 1925 - February 12, 2014)

Melba Kathleen Messner. 89 of Huntington formerly of Moundsville, WV, passed away, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Midland Meadows Senior Living, Ona, WV. She was born January 1, 1925 in Moundsville, WV the daughter of the late, Lawrence Edward and Eva Briggs Pettit. She was a retired LPN at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, WV and member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mike Messner and one brother, Harold Pettit. She is survived by two daughters, Diana Hoffman (Edwin) of Ashaway, RI and Alane Thomas (Gregory) of Huntington, WV; one son, Mark Messner of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Roger Pettit of Moundsville, WV ; two grandchildren, Keith G. Hoffman (Shelly) and Kevin Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Wheeling, WV with Rev. Cindy Pettit Murphy officiating. Burial will follow the services. Friends may call 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Moundsville, WV.
