ObituaryJAMES STEPHEN CAMP
James Stephen “Sonny” Camp 61 of Salt Rock, W.Va., passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He was born November 25, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas the son of Barbara Fisher Camp and the late, James Ryland Camp. He was a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. As a youth, he attended Pea Ridge United Methodist Church and Troop #62 of Boy Scouts under the guidance of John Daulton, who was a very active leader. Steve was a good student and band member at Barboursville High school, where he played first trumpet and was also a member of the Jazz Band. Steve was a soft heart, lovable and helpful young man who’s nickname was "Sonny" because he smiled so much. His main activities was hunting and fishing. His life companion and nurse was Lisa Sifford who took care of him throughout his illness. Those who survive him in addition to his mother are one sister, Diana (Denny) Bias of Ona, W.Va. and one brother, Russell (Kim) Camp of Culloden, W.Va. and a life-long companion, Lisa Sifford of Huntington, W.Va; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and family members. Special thanks to Dr. Silberman of the HIMG Oncology Group. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Pastor Brady Lipscomb officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
