Carolyn Lee Lansdale 85, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, April 14. Funeral liturgy will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, April 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, W.Va. with Father Dean G. Borgmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. Carolyn was born in Rockville, MD to Loretta and Basil Mobley on October 18, 1931. She went to school at (Richard Montbomery in Rockville, MD. She married George Leroy Lansdale on June 26, 1954 in Chevy Chase, District of Columbia. She graduated from Southern Seminary in Virginia. She was a dedicated and loving mother and wife raising 5 children. Carolyn lived a wonderful and full life and dedicated herself to her family, and the many causes she cared deeply about. She was known for always putting the needs of others first and baked an amazing lasagna. Carolyn was involved in several bridge clubs, and earlier in life was a volunteer with Contact of Huntington Help Line, The Huntington Women’s Club and the Garden Club. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband George Leroy Lansdale and parents Basil and Loretta Mobley. Carolyn is survived by children Michael Hunter Lansdale, Mary Irene Lenz, David Griffin Lansdale, Christopher Brady Lansdale, Laura Ann Hardesty. Grandchildren Lissa Marie Gonzalez, Amanda Carolyn Lenz, Christine Elizabeth Westfall, Madison Olivia Hardesty, Hunter Mather Hardesty, Samantha Brady Lansdale. Great grandchildren Jayce Hunter Westfall, Ethan Manuel Gonzalez and Caleb Michael Gonzalez. The family of Carolyn Lansdale wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital, Dorothy Neace and Family, as well as Joe and Ashley Nash and her many caring neighbors on Larchmont Drive where she lived for 56 years. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army. Arrangements are in the care of Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va.
