Lynn Midkiff, 68, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday July 27, 2018 at home. She was born July 9, 1950 in South Charleston, WV, daughter of the late John and Ruby Shelton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Allen Midkiff. She was a beloved teacher for the Cabell County School System for 27 years when she retired. She loved her students and remembered each and every one fondly. Her smile could light up a room and her eternal optimism was infectious. She was kind, funny, loving and friendly; she never met a stranger. Everyone who ever met her would consider themselves lucky for having crossed her path. She will be forever remembered and cherished by the love of her life, husband, John Allen Midkiff, daughter Angela Midkiff El-Ammar and son-in-law Abraham El-Ammar; grandchildren John Michael El-Ammar, Taylor Midkiff McComas, Janet Lynn El-Ammar, Joel Ryan Midkiff and Sophia Rose Midkiff. She will be dearly missed by her adoring sisters Kathy Lambert (Rick Williams), Janie Mason (Dennis Mason) and brother Dusty Shelton (Cindy Shelton). She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too many to count. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held, Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lynn's memory to the American Heart Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
