Shirley Jean (Roy) Armstrong


Shirley Jean (Roy) Armstrong, 84 of Chesapeake, OH went to be with her Lord, Friday, June 18, 2021. She was born February 15, 1937 in Logan County, WV; daughter of the late Dennis and Normal (Hodge) Roy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Lee Armstrong, Jr; and two great-grandchildren, Cohen and Daniel Caserta; siblings, Bob Roy, Jr, Dennis "Bucky" Roy, Marlene Smith and Olive Roy. Shirley was a member of Christ Temple Church, Huntington, WV and was hopelessly devoted to her husband and family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, David Lee Armstrong, Sr. of Chesapeake, OH; five children, Michael Allan Armstrong (Candie Caroline) of Barboursville, WV, Jeffrey Scott Armstrong (Faye) of Chesapeake, OH, Kevin Shawn Armstrong (Brenda Lee) of Barboursville, WV and Angela Denise Armstrong Caserta (Mark Allen) of Huntington, WV; ten grandchildren, Amanda Barnes, Holly Boyes, Craig Armstrong, Amber Adkins, Adam Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Jordan Armstrong, Aaron Caserta, James Caserta and Seth Caserta; nine great-grandchildren, Conner Barnes, Abilene Chapman, Austin Adkins, Kaiden Adkins, Keegan Lambert, Nolan Armstrong, Mason Armstrong, Elias Caserta and Claire Caserta; one daughter-in-law, Vendetta Louise Armstrong of Cedar Bluff, AL; one brother, Ernest "Sam" Roy of Lesage, WV; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services honoring Shirley's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Christ Temple Church, 2400 Johnstown Road, Huntington, WV 25701 with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
