Charles Richard Goheen


Charles Richard "DeDe" Goheen, 85 of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, September 01, 2022, at Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He was born December 16, 1936, in Huntington, WV; son of the late Harry and Esther Ripley Goheen. Charles was retired from INCO Alloys and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Huntington American Legion Post 16. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry, James, Bobby, David, Tom Goheen; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Walter) Gipprich; and one grandson, Andrew McClure. Charles is survived by his wife, Nicolette Archer Goheen of Huntington, WV; children, Charles R. Goheen, Jr. of Lucasville, OH, Stephanie Goheen of Huntington, WV, Barri Midkiff of Huntington, WV and Kammi (Michael) McClure of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Alex and Morgan Chittum, Sam (Tori) Chittum, Chad and Josh McClure; brothers, John (Jo) Goheen, Larry (Connie) Goheen, Dan (Paulette) Goheen, Gale Goheen; sister, Martha Carlson; special sisters-in-law, Nena, Nilda, Marcia; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV 25705. At the request of the family, those in attendance are asked to wear a mask. There will be a funeral mass conducted at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1304 6th Ave Huntington, WV 25701 with Monsignor Dean Borgmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, WV.
