Kathryn “Anne” Mullarky,
79, died peacefully on August 6, 2010, at Hospice House, Huntington, WV
surrounded by loving family members. Visitation at Klingel-Carpenter
Mortuary, Huntington, WV on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Rite of
Committal following at Spring Hill Cemetery. Born June 16, 1931, Anne was
the first child of the late Marshall G. Means and Tamar Pauley Means of
South Charleston, WV. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, William
Baker “Bill” Mullarky and her sister, Janet “Sue” Means Blake. Anne is
survived by her brother John Means (Mary), Hagerstown, MD; Her loving Aunt
Ruth Pauley Flippin, St. Albans, W.Va.; Sister-in-law Mary Ann Barton,
Surfside, SC. and Brother-in-law Dr. Richard “Dick” Blake of Cold Water, MI.
Anne was the beloved mother of eight children, Patrick Mullarky (Anne) of
Huntington, W.Va., Andrew Mullarky (Kailyn) of Sequim, WA., Michael Mullarky
(Laura) of Huntington, W.Va., Mary Jane Mullarky-Hall of South Point, Ohio,
Kathleen Watson (Walter) of Chapmanville, W.Va. Sheila Dailey (Greg) of
Huntington, W.Va.,
Judy Rose (Jack) of Ft. Thomas, KY. and Leo Mullarky (Jodi) of Costa Mesa,
CA. She was the devoted grandmother to 18 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Her life revolved around faith, family and friends. She
graduated from Marshall College majoring in Elementary Education where she
was a member of Pi Kappa Sigma Sorority. She taught school in rural W.Va.
prior to starting her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church
and previously the Marshall Catholic Newman Center. She lived a full life
and traveled to Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East. She was an
avid reader and enjoyed knitting. Anne was past board member of the Marshall
University Alumni Association, a Cub Scout leader, and one of the founding
members of the Huntington Regional NAMI. She was generous with her time and
talent to numerous charitable organizations. Her family and friends were
blessed by her unconditional love and patience. The family wishes to express
their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff and caregivers at Huntington
Hospice House. The life of Christ in her was evident to all who were touched
by her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Emogene
Dolin Jones House.
