Anna Csernica
October 8, 1931 - January 30, 2010
Anna Yura Csernica,
78, of Huntington, WV passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St.
Mary’s Medical Center. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on October 8, 1931 to the
late George and Anna Yura. She was preceded in death by her four brothers
Andrew, John, Stephan, and George Yura. She is survived by her husband
Robert Y. Csernica and two children James M. Csernica of Charlotte and Sarah
C. Llanes of Chicago, along with Jim’s girlfriend Julie, and Sarah’s husband
John and their three children Derek, Simone, and Alexa. She is also survived
by her identical twin sister Mary Dzumurat of New Jersey, a sister-in-law
Anne Yura of New Jersey, a brother-in-law Charles Csernica of New York, and
ten nieces and nephews. Along with many other endeavors, she was an active
member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church as both a Sunday School teacher
and Choir Director. She was also active with the Huntington Museum of Art as
a docent for approximately 30 years. Anne was a great woman with a big
heart, who was passionate about her volunteer work and about her friends and
family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a beautiful mother, and a
super granny. (Well said by her 4 ½ year old grandson.) In lieu of flowers
the family requests a donation to either St. George Church or to the
Huntington Museum of Art. Visitation will be at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary
on Thursday, February 4th from 6pm to 8pm. A Trisagion Service (prayer
service) will be at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 5th
at 10am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with Internment at Spring Hill
Cemetery.
