Mr. Ted Baker
June 9, 1918 - October 23, 2010
VERNON THEODORE (TED) BAKER
OF HUNTINGTON PASSED AWAY ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2010 IN ATLANTA, GA AT
PLANTATION SOUTH ASSISTED LIVING HOME. VISITATION AND FUNERAL TO BE HELD AT
KLINGEL-CARPENTER FUNERAL HOME IN HUNTINGTON. VISITATION WILL BE ON TUESDAY,
OCTOBER 26, 2010 BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6 P.M. AND 8 P.M.. FUNERAL WILL BE ON
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2010 AT 1 P.M. AND WILL BE OFFICIATED BY PASTOR PAUL
RUSSELL. BURIAL SERVICES WILL FOLLOW AT SPRING HILL CEMETERY. TED WAS BORN
JUNE 9, 1918 IN KINGSTON, WV. THE SON OF THE LATE JOHN AND NONA JOHNSON
BAKER. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY WIFE EDITH BAKER, SISTERS RUTH
HARSHBARGER, RUBY ADKINS , MARY BENSON AND BROTHER RUFORD BAKER. TED IS
SURVIVED BY SISTER DIANA BELLOMY, DAUGHTER SHERRY WAUGH (LYNDON) AND SON
CHRIS BAKER (NADINE). TED HAS FIVE GRANDCHILDREN; DEREK WAUGH (MARY),
BRANDEN WAUGH (JULIE), TARA BISHOP (BRANDON), REBECCA BAKER, AND AMANDA
WALKER (RYAN). HE ALSO HAS 6 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN , SOPHIA, LUKE AND JACK
WAUGH, LORELEI WAUGH, AYLA AND HARPER BISHOP AND ANOTHER DUE IN DECEMBER.
TED WAS A VETERAN OF WORLD WAR II AND SERVED IN THE US ARMY AIR CORPS AND
FLEW IN MANY MISSIONS IN EUROPE. HE WAS A LIFE LONG MEMBER OF FIRST UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH OF HUNTINGTON. TED RETIRED AS VICE-PRESIDENT OF GOLDSMIT-SYDNOR
IN 1980. HE WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF SPRING VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB WHERE HE
ENJOYED GOLF AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.
