Norton M. Kaplan
(September 24, 1938 - March 6, 2012)

Norton M. Kaplan, 73, of Barboursville, died Tuesday, March 06, 2012 at home. He was born September 24, 1938 in Huntington, a son of the late Theodore R. and Julia Cantor Kaplan. He was a US Navy Veteran and retired owner and operator of Model Furniture in Huntington. A member of The B'Nai Sholom Congregation, past president of B'nai B'rith Lodge 795 and the Huntington Retail Furniture Association. He was very active in youth sports coaching The Midget League Football and Little League Baseball. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Ann Kaplan, infant daughter Robin Kaplan, a brother, Samuel Kaplan and a sister Jeanne Dunn. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn Kaplan of Ona, W.Va. and Jeff and Donna Kaplan of Huntington, W.Va.; four grandchildren Kramer Kaplan and Keaton Kaplan of Huntington, Sydney Kaplan and Erin Kaplan of Ona, W.Va; a sister Pauline Kaplan of Huntington and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by Rabbi Jean E. Eglinton. Interment will follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens. Friends may call 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to B'Nai Sholom Congregation or Hospice of Huntington.
