Lawrence X.
Moore
(December 27, 1916 - March 20, 2012)
Lawrence X. Moore died Tuesday, March
20th at Hospice House of Huntington. Larry was born in Bayonne, New Jersey
in 1916. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn, NY and
attended Marshall University. Employed by Huntington Alloy Products, he
retired after 42 years of service as a foreman in the refinery. Larry was an
avid fisherman, golfer, reader and Scrabble enthusiast. As a member of the
Our Lady of Fatima Church, he served as a Eucharistic minister. Larry was a
wonderful father and grandfather and he instilled in us a drive to excel,
giving us confidence that we could accomplish anything. He was a caring
friend to many with an Irish sense of humor that most enjoyed. He will be
greatly missed by us all. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Ellouise, his
daughter Helen Darby, and his brothers William, Jack, Terence, James, Victor
and Thomas, and best Cavalier friends Lar and Quinn Moore. He is survived by
his son Lex Moore and his wife Sally of Huntersville, N.C. and his daughter
Chris of Chicago, Il, as well as his beloved grandchildren Natalie and
Joshua Moore, and great-grandsons Jacob and Kyle. The family expresses
appreciation for his loving caregiver Debbie Aguilar as well as his dear
friend Clyde Beal. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm,
Saturday, March 24th at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Huntington, West
Virginia, with interment at Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Visitation with the
family precedes the service at the church at noon. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, Inc. or our Lady of Fatima
Church. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
