Evelyn Dudding
Mossman, 93, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away at Madison
Park Senior Community on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was the daughter of
Howard and Louise McAllister Dudding and lived most of her life in
Huntington. She was employed for many years by Inland Mutual Insurance
Company, and also worked for the C & O Railroad and J.C. Penney Co. A
long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, she participated in
many activities there including the "crafts group," which she loved. She was
known for her excellent sewing skills which included everything from
tailored clothing to doll-making to home decor. She was also active in the
Huntington Women's Club, serving in various capacities on the board, and was
involved in the Huntington Pediatric Clinic. She and her late husband Robert
L. (Bob) Mossman, to whom she was married
for 50 years, loved to dance and were members of the Stardust Dance Club,
the Cotillion Dance Club and several square dancing groups. She is survived
by her children, Robert L. (Lee) (Cheryl) Mossman,
Jr., of Houston, TX, and Sallie (Ed) Manassah of Louisville, KY;
grandchildren Christy Mossman Aerie, Robby,
Chad, and Nathan Mossman, and Michelle
Manassah Lipper; six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren,
and a brother, Howard (Joan) Dudding of Georgetown, TX. The family will hold
a graveside memorial service at a later date. It is suggested that memorial
contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1124 Fifth Ave.,
25701.
