Dr. Richard E. Oakes II
(October 12, 1969 - September 24, 2013)

Dr. Richard E. Oakes II, 43, of Huntington, formerly of Clinton, NC., died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born October 12, 1969 in Chicago, Ill. the son of Dr's. Richard E and Sally L. Oakes of Huntington. He was a graduate of Marshall University and WVU School of Medicine. He was a Medical Doctor and a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and The American Medical Association. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dr. Ada Marie Conway; a son and a daughter, Michael Joseph Oakes and Jillian Marie Oakes. Three uncles; James Larry Oakes, Walter Stephen Reggel and a special uncle, Jack T. Oakes. Richard was a exceptional Doctor. He was truly a fine person and brought many new lives into the world. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his grave site in Woodmere Memorial Park by Rev. Dr. John Minihan. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family.
