Irene T. Cremeans,
93, of South Point, OH died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the
Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. A graveside service
will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2014 in Spring Hill
Cemetery by Father Paul Yuenger. Irene was born July 8, 1921,
daughter of the late John and Anna Takach. In addition to her
parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William L.
Cremeans (1914-1984) a WWII veteran and a pharmacist in Huntington,
owner of Cremeans Pharmacy (1959-1972), retired from Gladwell
Pharmacy; two daughters, Karen A. Rife and Rita J. Cremeans; three
sisters, Margaret Takach and Virginia Karbonit, Julia “June” Smith;
and by a brother, Julius Takach. She graduated from St. Mary’s
School of Nursing in 1946 as a registered nurse who met her loving
husband and partner during her tenure at St. Mary’s. She was a
faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since 1966 and
a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Irene is survived by
her son William L. Cremeans, Jr. and his wife, Jan Fox of South
Point, OH of whom Irene lived with since her onset of Alzheimer’s
progressed; grandchildren, Amy Rife of Boca Raton, FL, Lauren
Shannon of Atlanta, GA, Catherine Cremeans of Cincinnati, OH and
Bethany Cremeans Barklay of Akron, OH. In lieu of flowers,
contributions should be made to Hospice of Huntington.
