Jerry Raymond Furbee
(July 22, 1929 - December 3, 2014)



Jerry R. Furbee, 85, of Huntington, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Huntington. He was born July 22, 1929 a son of the late Raymond and Maude Duvall Furbee. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Donald Furbee, Franklin Furbee and Jeannette Furbee Fee. Jerry was a member of First United Methodist Church, a Korean Veteran of the US Army Combat Engineers, AF & AM Masonic Lodge #8 Union Lodge of Moundsville, OES #8, Scottish Rite Bodies, Beni-Kedem Shrine Temple, Life member of VFW Post 1064, American Legion Post 16, Board of Directors and Foundation Trustee Huntington YMCA, Rotary Club of Huntington and a past Board Member, Former Treasurer of Mountain State Centers for Independent Living and former member of the Goodwill Board in Huntington. He retired as Sales Associate for Wrangler Sports Wear Company and The Workingman’s Store. Jerry is survived by his wife, Susanna Parnicza Furbee; two sons and a daughter, Jerry Alan Furbee (Kelly) of Chesapeake, David Wayburn Furbee (Michele) of Jackson, Ohio and Marianna Towle (Ed) of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Jamie Bellomy, Shayna Crager, Jordan Furbee, Maddie Furbee, Anna Towle, Olivia Towle and Bryce Towle; great grandchildren Mackie Bellomy and Felicity Bellomy; a sister, Sharon Moore of Huntington and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Mark Conner. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Huntington or the Organization of Ones’ choice.
