Jacqueline Jennings
(August 16, 1929 - September 3, 2014)
Jacqueline Mason Jennings, 85, wife
of Robert N. Jennings, D.D.S, passed away on September 3, 2014 at the
Woodlands. Visitation and a memorial service will be held on Saturday,
September 6, 2014 beginning at 1:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 520 11th
Street, Huntington WV, with the Dr. Rev Chip Graves Presiding. Jacquie was
born on August 16, 1929 to the late C.F. “Slim” Mason and Louise Nesbitt
Mason of Nebraska City, Nebraska. Jacquie graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan,
where she was a member of the Willard sorority. She attended and graduated
from the Northwestern University School of Dental Hygiene in Chicago, where
she met her husband of 62 years, Robert N. “Bob” Jennings. She worked as a
dental hygienist before retiring to raise her family. Jacquie was an active
member in the community. She served in the Dental Auxiliary, volunteered at
her children’s schools, acted as a Docent at the Huntington Museum of Art,
and was trained as a Hospice volunteer. She was a faithful member of Trinity
Episcopal Church for over 60 years, serving as a member of the Altar Guild
and a Sunday school teacher. Family and friends were Jacquie’s passion and
delight. She loved to cook and garden and take care of her family. For many
years, Jacquie and husband Bob spent the winter in Naples, Florida, where
they made many lifelong friends. Jacquie was predeceased by her parents and
her brother, Donald Mason. She is survived by her husband, her four
children, Janet Jennings of El Cajon, California; David Jennings of Taos,
New Mexico; Patricia “Patty” Jennings Sweeney (Robert “Bo”) of Huntington,
West Virginia; and William “Bill” Jennings (Kristin) of Fairfield ,
Connecticut, as well as grandchildren Sarah Jennings, Mason Jennings and
Robert “Chip” Sweeney, and brother-in-law Richard “Dick” Jennings of
Charleston, West Virginia. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and
friends, along with numerous granddogs and grandcats. The family wishes to
thank all of those who cared for her during her illness. In lieu of flowers,
