Obituary

Anna Laura Ratcliff
(March 26, 1926 - June 6, 2017)

Anna Laura George Ratcliff, 91, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord June 6, 2017.  She passed peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side. She was born March 26, 1926 in Pikeville, Ky., daughter of the late Elmer and Maude Elswick George.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Virgil Ratcliff and two sisters, Pearl C. Adkin sand Mary Flatter.   Anna was a long time, active member of the 7th Ave. Baptist Church where she taught classes to children as will as adults.  She was also a member of the choir.  Anna was a talented artist and traveled the world. Her travels took her to places such as Israel, Peru, China, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand as well as most of the United States.  Anna is survived by her four children who were her constant companions and caregivers, Robert R. ( Kay) Ratcliff,  Peggy P. Waugh, Jeffery L. (Angie) Ratcliff and Dale A. (Wendy) Ratcliff; six grandchildren, James Ratcliff, Mindy Christian, Elisha Knox, Jackson Ratcliff, Taylor Ratcliff and Duncan Ratcliff and two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Anna Ratcliff; one sister, Clara A. Wilkes of Ashland, Ky. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017  by the Rev. Bob Withers at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary with visitation from 12 noon until service time.  Interment will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery.
