Obituary
Clarence Reginald "Reg" Compton,
82 of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his residence.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014
at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens, Huntington by Pastor Rodney Hale. Mr.
Compton was born August 13, 1931 in Ameagle, W.V., a son of the late Raymond
Lee and Beulah Mae Brown Compton. He was a retired employee of Lucent
Technologies and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Korea. He was
a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Pioneer Club, Cresent Lodge #32 AF&AM
Ceredo, and of the Happy Hunt Club, and a Baptist by faith. In addition to
his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frankie Lee Compton
and Charlie Lee Compton. Those that survive him include his wife, Sue
Anderson Compton, one son David (Terri Leigh) Compton of North Carolina and
one daughter Terry Sue ( John) Bentley of Huntington and three
grandchildren, Michelle Leigh Compton and Christy Leigh Compton of North
Carolina and Jon Ryan ( Meredith L.) Bentley of Huntington, WV. Military
rites will be preformed by Post 93 of Kenova. In lieu of flowers, Hospice of
Huntington. There will be neither visitation nor procession to the cemetery.
