Obituary
Lynn Ruth Welcker,
75, of Huntington, W. Va., passed away Saturday March 1, 2014, at her
residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the
Reger Funeral Chapel by Dr. C. J. Adkins. Burial will be in Spring Valley
Memory Gardens, Huntington. Ms. Welcker was born January 5, 1939 in
Columbus, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late William August and Helen
Brenner Welcker. She graduated from Oberlin College, and worked as a
librarian. She traveled extensively and lived in Paris France for 1 year.
She moved to Huntington in 2005 from St. Augustine Florida. She was an
active member of Westmoreland Baptist Church, where she was in charge of the
library, which was her special love. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by an infant brother William A. Welcker, Jr. and her
sister Shan Welcker Mann. She is survived by a sister Helen W. Spoon of
Cincinnati, Ohio. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. till service time
Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the Westmoreland Baptist Church 3401 Hughes
Street, Huntington, WV 25704.
