Obituary
Ezra Jenkins, 91, of West Harrison IN, formerly of Huntington, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 10 , 2017 at his residence. Funeral services conducted on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the 1st Church of the Nazarene by Dallas Moore. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Ezra was born on December 28, 1925 in Kingston, WV the son of the late Edward and Ida Mae Jenkins Thompson. Preceded in death by sisters Edith Legg, Ruth DeWiggins, Helen Clemons, Naomi Pauley, Zina Hamlin, Dorothy Berry. Brothers Lawrence Jenkins, Edward Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins. Ezra was a retired salesman for Lever Brothers and Wilson Milk. He was proud veteran of the US Army having served in WWII and the Korean War. He was able along with his wife , who is also a veteran ,to travel on the Honor Flight to Washington DC in September 2015. He was a diligent Bible scholar and a member of 1st. Church of the Nazarene as well as the Gideon organization. Served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher for over 30 years. He loved serving God and spending time talking about the scriptures. One of his other greatest joys was spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Joyce Lorraine Jenkins, his daughter and son in law: Brenda and Chuck Hail . Sister in law Geneva Baker, Granddaughter: Melissa Poloskey and husband Sean Poloskey. Great grandchildren Max and Hannah Poloskey and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Reger Funeral home is assisting the family.
