Eustace Blake
(July 19, 1930 - March 12, 2018)



EUSTACE BLAKE, 87, of Ona, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018, at his home. He was born on July 19, 1930, in Cabell County, a son of the late Sidney Eustace and Urna Clary Blake. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Anse Blake, Frances Blake, Walter Blake, Bessie Lee Spradling, Pauline Blake, Loretta Schramm, Sidney "Bud" Blake Jr., Betty Smith, Elsie Scarberry, Robert Blake and twin sisters who passed at birth; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Blake; and four nephews. He was instrumental in helping build the Barboursville City Park and was park supervisor for 17 years. He worked at Houdalille Industries, C&O Railroad, Turman Construction and INCO. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Della Isabelle Shaffer Blake; two daughters, Lois Jean Burdette (F. Page) and Valerie Meadows (Joe); three sons, Dwight E. Blake, Brent Blake and Trent Blake; three grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Meggan Blake and Miranda Blake; two great-grandchildren, Jazmin Miller and Koby Miller; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Blake and Charlotte Blake; and 13 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Burial will be in the Bicker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Porter, Herb Wells, G.W. Orr, Jerry Kingery, Tommy McComas and Wendell Adkins, and two honorary pallbearers, Donald Stevens and Ronald McDonald. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton.
