Obituary

JAMES "ZACHARY" FLETCHER
(October 18, 1965 - July 24, 2016)

JAMES "ZACHARY" FLETCHER went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1965. He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Sue Fletcher; brother, Brandon Fletcher and maternal grandmother, Lucille Nelson, whom he called "Cille." He is also survived by special uncles James "Chuckie" (Bertha) Nelson and Randy (Delores) Nelson. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Rev. James "Ed" Nelson; paternal grandparents Agnes and Edward Fletcher and paternal aunt and uncle Mary and Claude Bailey. Zachary was a member of Salt Rock Community Church, which he attended since he was an infant. He enjoyed ringing the church bell and taking up the offering and would not budge until money was put in the plate. He loved the Lord, old-time preaching, and gospel singing more than anything. He listened to the Little White Church on Bowen Ridge for 30 years or more, and he recorded many services. Zachary graduated from Huntington East High School at age 23. Later, he worked at ResCare and would not miss work. He loved his co-workers, family, and was greeted by friends wherever he went. He also enjoyed going to auctions and bowling, as well as playing with his cats. Family wishes to thank family, friends, neighbors and Hospice for their kind words, food, support, etc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntington ResCare Art Program, 208 Cheshire Way Suite 1, Huntington, WV, 25704. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, with Rev. Jason Salmons and Matt Fulks officiating, at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
