Obituary

VERNA IRENE KELLER
(March 18, 1939 - July 8, 2016)



VERNA IRENE KELLER, 77, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Rev. Terry Thompson Sr. Burial will be in Susie Chapel Cemetery. She was born March 18, 1939 in Huntington, a daughter of the late George Washington Ward and Hester Ann McKenzie Ward. She served many years with the Democrat Women's Club of Cabell County, and was a past Chairwoman of the Cabell County Democratic Executive Committee for two terms. In 1999 she was voted Democrat of the Year of Cabell County, W.Va. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Irene Keller, three sisters, Frances Finley, Gertrude Payne and Fay Turner, and four brothers, Donald Ward, Charles Ward, Clifford Ward and George Ward. She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Gary F. Keller; two sons, Gregory F. (Marsha) Keller of Pendleton County, W.Va., and Gary Shane Keller of Barboursville; seven grandchildren, Jessica Wrightsel, Justin Apgar, Andrew Dorfsman, Kiera Keller, Adam Keller, Meghan Keller and Christian Fowler; four great grandchildren, Peyton Ann Wrightsel, Gabriella Apgar, Jaden Apgar and Kaci Keller; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
