Obituary

Bennie C. Varney
(July 21, 1937 - June 1, 2016)

Bennie C. Varney, 78, of Milton, passed away June 1, 2016 at home after battling two bouts of cancer and other health issues. He was born July 21, 1937 in Chattaroy, WV to the late William H.P. Varney Sr. and Avanell Pack Varney. He is also preceded by four brothers, Emzy, William Jr. “Bill”, Douglas, and Ernest; one sister, Shirley Newton and two daughters Martha Varney and Judy Chapman. He is survived by three sisters, Sherry (Wes) Smith and Sandra (Matt) Johnstal both of Florida, and Sharon (Darrell) Crislip of Huntington; two sons, Benny Jr. (Abby) of Spruce Pines N.C., Robert “Bob” (Jan) of Grayson, Ky. and one daughter, Joyce Collins of Milton; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends who will never forget him as well as a special friend Bonnie Hix. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating.
