Stephen "Poppy" Black
(September 20, 1953 - November 9, 2017)

Stephen “Poppy” Black, 64, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He was born on September 20, 1953 a son of the late Richard and Geraldine Baumgardner Black. He is also preceded in death by two daughters, Belinda Dawn Black and Kimberly Michelle Price; two sisters, Linda Garner and Sandra Hickman; one brother, Greg Black; two grandsons, Justin Smoot and Allen Price; niece, Amanda Woodard; son-in-law, John Durst and the mother of his children, Brenda Gay Smith. He is survived by one son Stephen Shane Black (Jenna Lewis); one stepdaughter, Stephanie Durst; love of his life, Vickey Davis; two sisters, Connie Woodard and Karen Black; one brother, Richard Black Jr., and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at Noon Friday, November 17, 2017 at Blue Sulphur Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Scarberry officiating. Family and friends may visit after 11 a.m. on Friday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
