Obituary

Don E. Campbell
(February 6, 1919 - November 17, 2017)

DON E. CAMPBELL, 98, of Barboursville, passed peacefully on November 17, 2017. He was born February 6, 1919, in Montgomery, W.Va., son of the late Charles Edward and Hazel Haynes Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Campbell Arthur and Elizabeth Campbell Sleboda. He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Virginia "Judy" Miller Campbell (Moggle); his son, Bob Campbell and his wife Annette Campbell; his daughter, Pam Jones and her husband Keith Jones; five granddaughters, Alison Campbell, Sassa Campbell Wilkes, Virginia "Ginny" Campbell, Anna Campbell and McKenna Jones; and two great-grandsons, Max Campbell Nibert and Victor Robert Hinkel. Don was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a retired sales manager of Brown Chevrolet in Montgomery, W.Va., and a devoted Marshall University Football fan. He was a member of Elmwood Missionary Baptist Church and a former Deacon and Trustee of First Christian Church of Montgomery, W.Va. Visitation Service will take place Monday, November 20, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville at 2:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m.
