Ruth Elizabeth Spurlock

Ruth Elizabeth Spurlock, 66, of Huntington, WV passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 in Saint Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Cledith Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Apple Grove Memorial Gardens, Apple Grove, WV. She was born January 3, 1943, in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Alex and Della Mathis Flora. Four brothers, Jacob Flora, Alex Flora, David Flora and Charles Flora and two sisters, Anna Godfrey and Mary Ashworth also preceded her in death. She was a cook at the former Huntington State Hospital and was Baptist by faith. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Della and Roger Dickenson of Ona, WV; three sons Mark Spurlock, Donald Spurlock and William Spurlock all of Huntington; one brother, Homer Wilson also of Huntington; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to service time Monday at the funeral home
