Charles Aubrey Butler
(June 5, 1926 - September 12, 2009)



Charles Aubrey Butler, 83, of Barboursville, husband of Margaret E. Daniel Butler, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 pm Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. R.J. Chenoweth, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, with Masonic graveside rites conducted by the Guyandotte Western Star Lodge #11 A.F & A.M. He was born June 5, 1926, in Malden, WV, a son of the late George Dewey and Hazel Lee Gardner Butler. Two sisters, Oneida Kubach and Patricia Ann Bostic, and one brother, Sterling "Dink" Butler also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Malden United Methodist Church, a retired driver's examiner for the U S Army Corps of Engineers, a 30 year member of the Huntington Reserve Police force, a member of the Guyandotte Western Star Lodge # 11 A.F. & A.M., Valley of Huntington Scottish Rite Bodies, a 32nd degree Mason, Kanawha 20 Commandery Knights Templar and the Beni Kedem Shrine. Survivors in addition to his wife include: a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Mark Williams of Huntington; three sons, BG (Retired) Terry Lee Butler and his wife Susan of Alexandria, VA., Richard Wayne Butler, and CMSgt. Charles Christopher Butler both of Glenwood, WV; one brother, Richard Lee Butler of Saint Albans, WV; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
