Nephew Jim Harbour, ex wife Terryann, their children, Amy (Sean) their infant daughters Emma Claire and Sofia Grace, Brooke (Dan), niece Brenda Robertson (Robbie) their children and spouses Tyler, Holly, and Erin, niece (the late Sherre's children Andrea and David Chapman. First and foremost, Roy devoted his life to God--his favorite scripture, John 3:16-favorite song, Mansion Over The Hilltop. Roy attended Barboursville schools, excelling in sports. baptized, taught teen Sunday School Class at Sunset Chapel Church, attended Highlawn Baptist, and more recently ushered at Olive Baptist, where his simple, humble prayers blessed and inspired so many-always asking God to "wrap his arms around little children. Served in U.S. Navy, crane operator at Inco, went into sales at Malter International Chemicals, Reserve Life, annuities, Kentucky Central, college plan-(received many top sales awards-never settled for less than No. 1) Built from ground up a college plan for local Educators Life Insurance Company-officials. With wife and ("business partner") Patty always at his side, they plunged into several ventures. Tri-State Builders (houses), Universal Research (chemicals) Universal Pizza, Universal Pools-later Discount Pools and Spas. Above all endeavors, ranking high in his accomplishments, in 1966, Roy founded and organized THE OHIO RIVER ROAD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT. In capacity as first Chief, he, along with his family, decided he should step down due to his impulsive nature to help others not considering his own safety, while performing many heroic deeds: two would stand out, flagged down by passerby on Route 2, he saved a small child's life, dislodged a marble from its airway, and swam out in icy Ohio River to cut loose boats from burning Serena Boat Club. Unable to discriminate, there were no classes of people. A special tribute to Veterans Medical Center Dr. Sara Ullman, as well as the unequaled emergency staff, and to Doctors, Tirona, Sharma, and LePanto. Our appreciation to our good friends who conducted burial service, Jim Franklin and Pastor Gordon Rutherford. Memorial Service will be held Sunday October 4, 2009, 2:00 at Olive Missionary Baptist Church, informal public reception hosted by teens will follow in Fellowship Hall.  In lieu of flowers you may make contributions to the Memorial Fund at Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 6286 Little Seven Mile, Huntington, WV 25702
