Rev. Charles Plybon
(September 8, 1916 - June 21, 2010)



When I've gone the last mile of the way, I will rest at the close of the day; And I know there are joys that await me, When I've gone the last mile of the way.

Rev. Charles Plybon, 93, of Huntington, WV, went to be with his Heavenly Father and his loving wife of 65  years, Martha Louise Plybon, on Monday, June 21, 2010, in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, June 25, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Reverend Eugene R. Houck officiating and his grandson, Reverend Rick Plybon giving the eulogy. Burial will be in Susie Chapel Cemetery, Huntington. Pallbearers will be J.R. Blankenship, Rob Blankenship, Jeff Blankenship, Rev. Rick Plybon, Gene Plybon, and Ray Blankenship. Rev. Plybon was born September 8, 1916 in Huntington a son of the late John and Maude Roberts Plybon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Louise Plybon; three sons, Charles (Sonny) Plybon, John Plybon, and Jim Plybon; three sisters; and four brothers. He was a minister for 62 years of both the Free Methodist and Wesleyan Churches and was a member of Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and J.R. Blankenship of Huntington; two daughters-in-law, Freda Plybon of Jacksonville, FL and Judy Dowler of Cleveland, OH; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a very special nephew, Gene Plybon. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Chapman's Mortuary.
