Mary Evelyn Pelfrey

Mary Evelyn Pelfrey 80, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor John Duffy officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kenova. She was born August 11, 1932, in Buskirk, KY, a daughter of the late Burt and Thelma Hatfield. Also preceding her in death was a daughter and her best friend, Brenda Aguirre; a son Howard Hatfield; a sister Mae Hatfield; and two grandchildren, Frank Hatfield and Amanda Pelfrey. She was a retired housekeeper for Marshall University, and attended Stella Fuller church services when she was able to do so. Survivors include her loving husband, Curtis Pelfrey of Huntington; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila Rooks of South Point, Ohio; Sherry and Tom Hardesty of Huntington; Deborah and Carl Hardesty of Akron, Ohio; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frank Hatfield, and Clifford and Sue Pelfrey all of Huntington; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and her loving pet Buster. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
