Obituary



Floyd H. Lambert, 78, of South Point, Ohio, departed this life August 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born in Gallia County, Ohio on June 7, 1937, to the late Floyd and Gusta Lambert. He was a life-long resident of Gallia and Lawrence Counties in Ohio and was retired from City Loan and Savings and First National Bank. He served two years in the U.S. Army in Germany. He loved spending time vacationing and fishing with his beloved family. He attended Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Gusta Lambert; a sister, Lillian Starcher; and his brother, John Lambert. Floyd leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Lambert-McCain and Jesse McCain; and two precious grandsons, Gabriel and Brandon McCain. Also surviving is his niece, Beth Evans; great niece, Kimberly Thomas; great nephews, Evan and Ian Thomas; and two nephews, Terrill and Chad Lambert. Floyd also leaves behind a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church, Huntington, with Rev. Jody Fortner and Rev. Carl Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Centerpoint Cemetery, Gallia County, OH, with military graveside rites conducted by Gallia County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, August 21, 2015, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, and from noon to 1:00 pm Saturday at the church.
