Obituary

James Larry Shaver
(December 15, 1935 - February 7, 2015)



James Larry Shaver, 79, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Saturday, February, 7, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born December 15. 1935 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late James Andrew and Virginia Estelle Woody Shaver. Larry was a blast furnace tender and retired in 1998 from Armco Steel after 29 years’ service. He was a member of BPOE 313, Huntington, and the Moose lodge in Huntington. Larry was an avid golfer, loved to fish, and built and flew model airplanes. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Glynn Campbell of Huntington; two nieces, Tammy Stoffregen and her daughter, Ashley of Huntington, and Lisa Adkins and husband, Tommy Adkins, of Yawkey, WV, and their children, Forrest Campbell and Trace Adkins; cousins, Joseph Shaver of Hot Springs, VA, Robert Shaver of Richmond, VA, and Charlotte “Bunny” Ortiz of Bradenton, FL; and his cat, Toby. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary with Rev. Bill DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Donations may be sent to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may visit family after 11:00 am Wednesday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
