Mamie Hazel Sims
(November 26, 1918 - February 1, 2015)



Mamie Hazel Sims, 96, of Barboursville, WV, died Sunday February 1, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday February 4, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Ernest M. Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Hazel was born November 26, 1918 in Putnam County, WV a daughter of the late Samuel Clayton & Martha Smith Gillispie. She retired from Penny Fare Super Market. She was a member of the Church in the Valley, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Perry A. LaFon & Myron Sims, two sisters, Alma Foster & Iva Ferguson, 4 brothers, Lawrence, Harlen, Joe & Bud Gillispie, and a son-in-law, Donald Ray Keyser. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Keyser of South Point, OH, one grandson, Stephen Todd Keyser & wife Bethany of Salisbury, MD, a special niece & care giver, Sandra Kay Parsons & husband Tim of Huntington, and a stepdaughter, Donna Martin of Las Vegas, NV. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary after 11:00 AM Wednesday.
