Obituary
James Raymond Shaver,
84, of Lavalette, WV, died Wednesday July 8, 2015, at his residence. Jim was
born January 31, 1931, in Manheim, WV, a son of the late Walter B. & Lottie
Felton Shaver. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a retired
Accountant, and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Ona. He
was preceded in death by an infant sister Bernice Shaver & sister Helen
Dobbins, three brothers, Chuck, Leslie & Edwin Shaver. Survivors include his
wife Carolyn Sue Gibson Shaver, two daughters Cristi Elstone & husband Kevin
of Redford MI, & Lisa Newman of Lynchburg, VA, three sons Mitch Shaver, M.D.
& wife Micki of Huntington, Todd Shaver of Lavalette, WV, & Eric Shaver of
Ona, WV, 9 grandchildren Erin, Adam & Karl Shaver, Kelli Elstone Slayden &
husband Alex, Alyssa & Stacy Elstone, Daniel, Andrew & Brian Newman, one
brother Walter Shaver, Jr. & wife Betty of Carrollton, OH, and one sister
Gaye Childs of Terra Alta, WV. Memorial donations may be made to Cabell
Huntington Hospital’s Edwards Cancer Center, 1400 Hal Greer Blvd.
Huntington, WV 25701. A private memorial will be held by the family at a
later date. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
