Obituary

Florene Stephenson
(September 23, 1931 - July 12, 2015)



Florene Stephenson, 83, of Huntington, WV, our beloved mother and cherished friend, went to be with the Lord Sunday July 12, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Pastor Tommy Jeffrey officiating. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. Florene was born September 23, 1931 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late John Frank & Anna Patrick Martin. She attended Davis Bowen United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. “Verne” Stephenson, a great-grandson, Jordan Stephenson, one sister, Virginia Nell Salmons, and two brothers, Roger & Pete Martin. Survivors include, two daughters, Linda Jane Meadows of Florence, KY, Elizabeth Ann Rayment & husband Van, two sons, Jack Stephenson, Jr & wife Rebecca and Michael Louis Stephenson all of Barboursville, 7 grandchildren, Marianna French Coburen, Cheryl Rebecca, Michael Jason, Mark Allen, & Matthew Scott Stephenson, Cameron Blake & Ethan Cole Rayment, 7 great grandchildren, William Christian & Thomas Gabriel French, Benjamin Coburen, Jesse Gail, Haley Marie, Dylan & Axton Stephenson, one sister, Freddie Lee Adams & one brother John Martin both of Barboursville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday July14, 2015 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
