Obituary
John Robert Spradling
84, of South Point Ohio, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 in the Emogene
Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born February 19, 1931 in Wayne County,
WV, a son of the late Virgil and Grace Hughes Spradling. Two sisters, Mary
Heaberlin and Faye Saville, and two brothers, Clyde and James R. Spradling
also preceded him in death. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the
Korean Conflict, and a member of VFW Post 1064. He was a retired
groundskeeper for Marshall University. Survivors include his wife, Effie
Carter Spradling; one daughter, Grace Spradling of Huntington; a son and
daughter-in-law, Harold and Heather Spradling of South Point, OH; one
brother, Paul R. Spradling of OH; 7 grandchildren, Kaylon, Kyle, Shelby and
Lilly Spradling, Gavin, Myleaha and Jacob Crockett; 3 great-grandchildren,
Sean, Zoey and Skylar Brazis. There will be no services. Chapman’s Mortuary,
Huntington is assisting the family.
