Ruth Ann Russell
(October 26, 1959 - June 15, 2015)



Ruth Ann “Sammy” Russell, 55, of Barboursville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born October 26, 1959 in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Bays Franklin. Her son, George Allen Russell, Jr., also preceded her in death. She has worked for the past 30 years as an L.P.N. for Cabell Huntington Hospital. Survivors include her two daughters, Samantha D. Russell of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Savannah L. Russell of Huntington; a grandson, who lived with her, Brian Christopher Hillabold, Jr.; a sister, Mary Bowles of Charleston, WV; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Ann Collison of Haines City, FL. Memorial services will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary with Tom Hastie, Chaplain at Cabell Huntington Hospital, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a custodial account set up for Ruth Ann’s grandson, Brian. The account is set up through Huntington Bank and checks can be made payable to the Brian Christopher Hillabold, Jr, custodial account. Friends may visit family 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
