Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Ramsey
(January 18, 1935 - May 27, 2015)



Robert Lee “Bob” Ramsey, 80, of Kings Mountain, NC, formerly of Ona, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015, in Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mountain. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sheila Chapman Ramsey; son, Robert Ramsey; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Richard Rice; daughter, Stacey Holland; and his pride and joy, grandsons, Johnathan Rice and his wife, Stacy, Shane Holland, Justin Holland, Kobe Holland, and his name sake, granddaughter, Shaelah “Lee” Rice; his precious great grandson, Parker Holland and great granddaughter, Hadley Rice. He was born January 18, 1935 in Russell, KY a son of the late Henry Bennett and Myrtle Kitchen Ramsey. A sister, Mary Frances Buskirk and a brother, Ben Ramsey, also preceded him in death. In his younger years, he attended Marshall University; became a United States Marine, was a Huntington Policeman and retired from the Alcohol Beverage Control as an inspector. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, June 1, 2015, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor John R. Yeager, CRE officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Recovery Point, formerly known as The Healing Place of Huntington, 2425 Ninth Avenue, Huntington, WV 25705.
