Obituary


Angela Veronica Burdette passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at her home. She was born April 1, 1925 in St. John's, Newfoundland (Canada), a daughter of the late Mary Stanford Shaw and Andrew Shaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerial Burdette and her son Rod Burdette. Both her husband and son were U.S. Army veterans and retired employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She is survived by 3 children, Lori Burdette (husband Brian), Gerial Burdette Jr. (wife Patty), and Marshall Burdette (wife Peggy); 5 grandchildren, Heath Burdette, Jason Burdette, Caleb Burdette, Jennie Burdette, and John McCoy; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Andy Shaw and a sister Imelda Goss. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave Huntington, WV 25701. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
