Obituary


Joan Adams Lynch, 89, of Huntington, widow of Calvin Coolidge Lynch, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born April 13, 1926, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Marion M. and Helen Givens Adams. In addition to her parents, others preceding her in death were, her first husband, Robert Wassum; a twin brother, Robert E. Adams; a sister, Betty McAllister; her son, Daniel Wassum; and a step-son, Terry Lynch. Joan graduated from the Wiseman Bussiness School, was the office bookkeeper for 25 years for Dr. Carlton Apgar, and was a member of Trinity Church of God. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Merrill Wassum of Charleston; a granddaughter, Johnna Wassum of Charleston; stepdaughter and husband, Sandra and Tim Parsons of Huntington; a sister, Jan Dickey of Huntington; and a brother-in-law, Jim McAllister of Huntington. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park Abbey of Devotion, with Rev. Ken Toler officiating. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Huntington in her name. Friends may visit after 12:30 pm Wednesday at the cemetery.
