Obituary

Otho Grant Vance, 79, of Milton passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor David Vickers and Pastor Eddie Neel officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  He was born May 26, 1928 in Cabell County, a son of the late William and Saba Chaney Vance.  He is also preceded in death by nine brothers and seven sisters.  He was a member of the Portersville Baptist Church.  He retired from Columbia Gas after 38 years of service.  He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mohr Vance; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl and Ellen Vance and Austin and Rhonda Vance; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tina Runyon and Frances and Jay Swanzy; six grandchildren, William Austin Vance II, Patrick Justin Vance, Brad Vance, Miranda Evelyn Chapman, Laura Michelle Neel and Edward Allen Neel II.; five great-grandchildren, Tucker Vance, Tyler Vance, Justin Chapman, Timothy Chapman and Nathan Chapman.  Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
