ADA LYNN BARCUS DOUGLAS
(May 25, 1937 - December 19, 2014)



Ada Lynn Barcus Douglas, 77 of Huntington, W.Va. went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Cabell Health Care Center, Culloden, W.Va. She was born May 25, 1937 in Huntington, W.Va. a daughter of the late, Leslie and Myrtle Mae Stanley Barcus. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Roy “Jimmy” Douglas and her siblings, Aaron Barcus, Morton Barcus, Mason Barcus, Marvin Barcus, Melvin Barcus, Louette Banks, Mary Sizemore, Christine Ronk and Louise Rose. Ada Lynn retired from Spurlocks Flowers in Huntington, was a homemaker, a graduate of Huntington East High School and was a lifelong member of the Staunton Street Apostolic Church, which later became Apostolic Life Cathedral where she sang in choir and worked in various church activities. Her family, children and grandchildren were her main focus in life. She is survived by one daughter, Andrea Carol Ross (Shawn) of Barboursville, W.Va; two sons, Brian Scott Douglas (Andrea) of Chesapeake, OH. and James Roy Douglas, II. (Carolyn) of Willow Spring, NC; seven grandchildren, James Roy “Jay” Douglas, III (Jenny), Kristen Taylor Douglas, Caleb Scott Douglas (Brittany), Joshua Michael Douglas, Brian Shane Douglas, Hannah Rae Brown and Corey Douglas Ross; one great-grandchild, Lincoln Marshall Douglas. Funeral services honoring her life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Apostolic Life Cathedral, Huntington, W.Va.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday in the Milton Cemetery, Milton, W.Va. The family wishes to thank the staff of Close To Home II. and the staff of Cabell Health Care Center for the great care and support.
