Myra Sue McVey

Myra Sue McVey, 85, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born July 12, 1927 in Beckley, W.Va. a daughter of the late Homer Eber and Gertrude Deem Roush. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by two brothers, Eber and Davis Roush. Myra retired after 22 years from Green Acres Regional Center, was an active member since 1956 of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Choir. A founding member of the Musical Arts Guild, Arts Resources for the Tri-State and a member of P.E.O. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James R. McVey; one daughter and three sons, Beth McVey of Huntington, Mark McVey (Christy) of Ridgewood, NJ, Phillip McVey (Kim) of Rockville, MD and Scott McVey (Susan) of Evansville, Ind.; five grandchildren, Eugene, Andrew, Grace, Kylie and Alisa; a sister, Ellen Nickell of Buckhannon, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church by The Rev. Mark Conner and Dr, Jane Ellen Nickell. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First United Methodist Church or the organization of one's' choice.
