Alfred "Al" Lynch Jr.
(March 31, 1917 - April 30, 2014)



Alfred “Al” Lynch Jr., 97, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully at the E.D.J. Hospice House, Huntington, WV, surrounded by his family on April 30th, 2014. He was born March 31st, 1917 in Cheona, KY Funeral Services will be conducted at the Reger Funeral Chapel on Friday May 2nd, 2014 at 1:00 pm by Steve Tardy Th.D. Private entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Huntington, WV. Al was a retired general contractor and brick mason. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. A well-known sports advocate in the Westmoreland community, especially little league programs and the athletic association at Vinson High School, Al was also an avid supporter of Marshall University Athletics. Al was proceeded in death by his wife Trilby McKeehan Lynch, parents Alfred and Rosie Petit Lynch, his infant daughter Tama Lynch, and sisters Edith Martin, Eva Bolten, Edna Brasil, and Evelyn Ledington. Al is survived by his sons and daughters in law; Tucker and Deborah Lynch of Huntington; Wesley and Patricia Lynch of Kenova. Daughters Llyanna Lynch-Huls of Teaneck, NJ; and Danae Beavers of South Charleston, WV. Eight grandchildren; Kristin Tonkin, Cody Lynch, Brittany Lynch, Barrett Lynch, Tanner Lynch, Nikki Beavers, Zachary Beavers, and Cameron Beavers, and a great grandchild Peyton Tonkins. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until service time on Friday May 2nd, 2014 at Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and Dr. Boggs of Travel MD for their compassionate care.
